LONG WAIT OVER!!! DreamTeam FCA finally begins spring season outdoor league play

April 12, 2015 By DreamTeam FCA Media Leave a Comment

While it seemed for a while like the snow would never melt and the fields were left permanently wet and unplayable, signs of spring finally returned to DreamTeam FCA as two of the squads saw action in Maple League play. And both shook off enough of their rust to claim victories.

The DreamTeam U12 Blue side faced a well organized Weymouth United who showed good form and quality throughout their team. A Marcos Palma blast on a counter surprised the keeper and opened both DreamTeam’s and his own account. After giving up a penalty and entering the half at 1 a piece, DreamTeam finally got enough of it’s passing game together. Another quick counter found Tristan Woods streaking through the midfield who, catching the keeper off his line, one timed  his shot into the back of the net from 30 meters out. Some slick combinations between Oliver Sharpe and Lucas Da Silva opened the Weymouth defense with a smart pass through the box finding Franco Silveira smartly at the back post for the team’s third. The defending of Max Stakun-Pickering, Itallo Campos, Ian Louback and Raffa Bauer stifled most of the Weymouth attacks in the final third with GK Bruno Kajiwara controlling his area throughout the contest. A good 3-1 start with much potential for the team to grow from this opener.

It was a long ride to Milford New Hampshire where the baby DT’s were greeted to a domed arena. But it did not take the kids long to find their scoring touch! A corner by Daniel Bueno had the right pace and spin to sneak into the goal for the U10’s first of the season. World Cup of Nashua put their first on the board by taking advantage of a rare lapse by the DreamTeam defense. But the baby DT’s showed their class and took over the match with some impressive signs of individual skill and consistent passing.  Cauan De Andrade, who frustrated defenders throughout the afternoon finished an impressive strike followed by the ever present Ryan Viana, who struck for his first of the season. More combination work was finished neatly by Kaik Reis, who’s run from the right flank found him in the right place to finish a ball sent through the box. Final – DreamTeam 4 World Cup 1.
