Stingy defense and timely strikes brought another positive end to matchday 2 for DreamTeam’s U10, U11 and U12 squads.
Led by the strong tackling of Max Stakun-Pickering, Raffaele Bauer, Itallo Campos and Michael Justiniano and backed by the solid goalkeeping of Vitor Barros, the U12 Blue posted an 8-3 win against John Smith’s Academy team. Goals by Franco Silveiro Jr., Lucas Da Silva and 2 each by Richard Nunes, Miguel Miranda and Tristan Woods provided the offense for the squad.
Bryann “Neymar” Almeida’s finish, getting on the end of a beautifully constructed sequence from Ryan Viana and Anthony Frois gave the DT 10s their second victory in as many weeks. The defending by Bryan Bueno, Gabriel Laudares and Viana along with goalkeeper Jackson Contois shutdown a stubborn Hammer FC team. The 1-0 victory gave the 10s the full 6 points to lead their group.
Falling behind 3 different times during the match, the Under 11s showed their strong character by fighting back to tie the match on each occasion. DreamTeam faced a physical Valeo FC team, determined to harass the squad throughout the match. A goal by Bryann “Neymar” Almeida, getting on the end of a Brandonn Bueno through ball, tied the match at 1. Then, after a deflected goal again gave Valeo the lead, Junior Balla finished a “Neymar” centering pass to equalize the score. Valeo took the lead at 2-3, only to have Felipe DeAndrade break through their defense and earn the penalty kick when he was taken down in the box. Brandonn Bueno stepped up to the spot and secured the draw with a strike to right of the outstretched keeper.
